Orion PartnerPlus, the retained executive search division of Orion Group, is thrilled to have been engaged by a global leader in industrial filtration, separation, and coalescing technologies to appoint a Business Development Manager – Germany.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for executing commercial activities across the assigned territory while developing strategic relationships with key industrial customers and distribution partners.
The role requires a commercially driven professional who understands complex industrial sales cycles and can successfully prospect, convert opportunities, build long-term partnerships, and close business across both capital equipment and aftermarket solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute the regional business strategy across Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, and parts of Eastern Europe
  • Develop and implement the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for both Aftermarket (AM) and Capital (CAP) business segments
  • Drive regional revenue growth and order intake through accurate sales forecasting and strategic opportunity development
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while managing complex technical sales cycles
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with refinery and petrochemical customers, developing long-term partnerships with key accounts
  • Expand regional market presence by developing and managing distributor networks
  • Grow the aftermarket business by identifying opportunities to replace competitor installed base across refineries, petrochemical plants, and gas processing facilities
  • Lead technical and commercial negotiations for complex industrial projects
  • Apply structured sales methodologies to improve opportunity management and increase win rates
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to support regional strategy and product development
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product management, and engineering teams to deliver tailored customer solutions
  • Maintain CRM reporting, sales forecasts, call reports, and pipeline visibility through Salesforce
  • Travel up to 50% across the region to support customer engagement and business development
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in technical sales or business development within industrial filtration, oil & gas, power generation, or related process industries
  • Proven track record of developing regional markets, building strategic customer relationships, and delivering revenue growth
  • Experience managing complex technical sales cycles involving both capital equipment and aftermarket products
  • Strong understanding of industrial filtration and coalescence technologies, particularly within refinery, petrochemical, and gas processing environments
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and technical datasheets
  • Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to evaluate technical and contractual risk in large projects
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute regional growth strategies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with technical teams, commercial stakeholders, and senior leadership

Languages
  • Fluent English and German
  • Dutch language skills are considered an advantage
