Orion PartnerPlus, the retained executive search division of Orion Group, is delighted to be partnering with a global, fast-growing filtration technology organisation specialising in advanced liquid filtration solutions across critical industrial sectors, to appoint a Business Development Manager to cover the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

Our esteemed client is a recognised leader in industrial filtration and separation technologies, supporting customers across chemicals, food & beverage, and OEM manufacturing environments. Their solutions play a vital role in ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and operational reliability.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving regional growth across the DACH market, with a strong focus on micro liquid filtration solutions. This role combines strategic market development, OEM partnership growth, and hands-on technical sales execution.

Key Responsibilities Regional Strategy & Market Development
  • Develop and execute a regional growth strategy across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the chemicals and food & beverage sectors
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform commercial strategy
OEM Acquisition & Development
  • Identify, engage, and onboard new OEM partners requiring filtration solutions
  • Build long-term relationships with OEMs, engineering firms, and system integrators
  • Support partners with technical and commercial expertise to integrate solutions into their systems
Sales & Account Management
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through to negotiation and contract close
  • Develop and grow key customer relationships across the region
  • Deliver revenue growth in line with agreed targets and business objectives
Technical & Solution Selling
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver tailored filtration solutions
  • Understand customer processes and recommend optimised microfiltration systems
  • Deliver technical presentations, product training, and solution-based selling approaches
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and operations teams
  • Provide market feedback to support innovation and product development
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows, and customer engagements
Reporting & Travel
  • Maintain CRM activity, pipeline visibility, and accurate forecasting
  • Travel approximately 20–25% across the DACH region, with occasional wider European travel
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (advanced degree advantageous)
  • Proven experience in technical sales or business development, ideally within filtration, chemicals, food & beverage, or related process industries
  • Strong track record of developing markets, winning new business, and delivering revenue growth
  • Experience working with or selling into OEMs, system integrators, or engineering companies
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and deliver solution-based selling
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and commercial teams
Languages
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Additional European languages are advantageous
