The majority of our vacancies in this area are based in the UK and Ireland, particularly Aberdeen but we do also have jobs going in America and Russia, both in the contract and permanent sector. You could be working in all aspects of the industry, from oil rigs to fields, refineries and pipelines. The enormous structures that are used in the oil and gas industry are some of the largest and most complicated in the world so you’ll be playing a vital part. To work as a Structural Engineer you’ll most likely need to have a relevant engineering degree and to be registered with PEGNL or at least eligible to be registered. You could be responsible for selecting the right building materials, inspecting existing structures for design uniformity, and working closely with architects in order to ensure the structural integrity of both equipment and buildings.
