Project Background

OCCMS was invited to support PBS in delivery of their first two flowline projects for their UK E&P client in the North Sea during Q4 2020 as part of PBS’ transition from the previous incumbent EPCC. This first delivery test for OCCMS was a successful execution of the two projects which led to OCCMS securing a 5 year contract with PBS which has a 2 year extension option upon completion of the initial 5 year term.

The Brief

OCCMS was chosen to carry out all:

  • Completion and commissioning estimates and proposals.
  • Commissioning Test Procedure development and implementation.
  • Technical delivery of processes and procedures using competence assessed personnel.

The Solution

To ensure the safe delivery and commitment to our client, OCCMS utilise the Competas assessment tool to verify our technician and engineer competencies for all disciplines that are deployed to our client’s assets. Not only do we determine competencies meet the client requirements but we also look at the psychometric characteristics of our resources to ensure their behaviours align with the client’s operational culture and expectations.

The Outcomes

Since commencing the contract, OCCMS have successfully commissioned 67 projects across multiple offshore assets including an onshore gas plant through its transition between HP operation mode to LP mode where OCCMS wrote the startup procedures and had operational input to the site procedures for operations in LP mode. Furthermore, there are 49 ongoing modification projects across the same portfolio due to be executed later in 2023 or into 2024, with an additional 48 projects which are either in the estimated phase or awaiting release of work.
