The Brief
Our client required a trusted and experienced partner for the recruitment of competence assessed Client Vessel Representatives (CVRs) covering Survey, Diving, Subsea Construction and ROV for their Greater Tortue & Anaheim Development, offshore Senegal and Mauritania, along with in-country support and full global mobility support.
This would involve recruiting and competency assessing CVRs and liaising on an almost daily basis with senior management to ensure all vessels had the required CVRs, and mobilising them accordingly.
The Solution
We have built up a pool of competency assessed CVRs over many years which we use for all our clients to ensure a high level of competence and delivery.
For this project we built a new pool of CVRs solely to be used for Tortue encompassing all the skill sets required for the various scopes. These individuals then needed to be internally assessed by the client for final approval. Managing this pool needed to be constant due to the volume of vessel activity and global mobility involved.
The Outcomes
Orion Group were awarded as sole agency managed service contract for Tortue project in Mauritania and Senegal for the provision of CVRs.
This allowed Orion Group to use our experience in this sector to provide the best CVRs to our client to facilitate the safe and efficient completion of the project. Some of the services provided during this project:
- Sourcing and recruitment of competent personnel in line with IOGP recommendations.
- Management, logistics and administration of Worksite Representatives.
- Co-ordination of Competence Assessments in line with current IOGP Regulations.
- Management of the skill pool competences.
- Maintaining of CVR movements tracking system, to ensure availability is always up-to-date.
- Maintaining training needs and recording.
- Logistics and travel support.
- Out of hours support (24/7).
- 24/7 in-country support.
This resulted in Orion Group recruiting and supporting over 100 CVRs over a 5 year period on a multi-million pound contract. This resulted in our client getting first oil in Q4 2024.
Following on from our success in delivering a high-quality service, we now provide CVRs to this client in multiple countries worldwide.
