Subsequently, there are a large number of jobs available from mid-level to senior posts. The expansion of shale gas projects (particularly in the Permian Basin) in the USA is prevalent and anybody with experience and/or knowledge of the industry is highly desirable. Nevertheless, those who haven’t previously worked in the US are still sought after – it is the experience of oil and gas industry as a whole that makes a candidate a valuable asset. There are a number of jobs on offer in Houston and offshore vacancies are also available in the Gulf of Mexico. Due to the high demand for candidates, the salary benefits of working in Houston are a noticeable attraction.
