As the largest city in Texas, Houston is a world leader in the oil and gas industry. The industry makes up for over a quarter of the city’s GDP. Subsequently, there are a large number of jobs available from mid-level to senior posts. The expansion of shale gas projects (particularly in the Permian Basin) in the USA is prevalent and anybody with experience and/or knowledge of the industry is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications are critical – a bachelor’s degree in the appropriate field is a near-universal requirement, as is knowledge of the specific inner-workings of the role advertised.
