Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Consultant to support the successful implementation of Workday US Payroll. This role will be instrumental in managing project activities, supporting payroll design sessions, and overseeing system testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. payroll operations and compliance, previous Workday implementation experience, and proven project coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Support
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, implementation partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of payroll deliverables
Track project tasks, milestones, and risks related to payroll workstreams
Participate in weekly status meetings and provide progress updates
Design & Configuration
Support payroll process design workshops and documentation of future-state processes
Provide guidance on Workday Payroll functionality, configuration options, and best practices
Review and validate functional designs and configuration build
Testing & Validation
Develop and execute test scenarios and scripts for unit, end-to-end, and parallel payroll testing
Coordinate payroll testing efforts and defect resolution with internal teams and vendors
Validate tax calculations, earnings, deductions, and integrations with timekeeping and financial systems
Knowledge Transfer & Readiness
Provide input to training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal payroll staff
Support go-live readiness including data validation, cutover planning, and post-go-live support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
5+ years of hands-on payroll experience; 2+ years with Workday Payroll strongly preferred
Experience with full-cycle Workday Payroll implementation (design through go-live)
Strong understanding of U.S. payroll compliance, taxation, and reporting requirements
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
