We are currently hiring a Well Control Technician. This position based in Kuwait onshore site-based drilling rigs.
Purpose
The Well Control Technician is responsible to Supervise workshop and field service activities related to inspection, repair, testing, certification, troubleshooting and commissioning of well control equipment, ensuring compliance with API Q1, API Q2, OEM requirements and client specifications, including CAT III & CAT IV certification as per client requirements.
Responsibilities
Supervise workshop operations for inspection, repair, assembly, pressure testing and certification of well control equipment.
Provide field troubleshooting, breakdown support and technical assistance at rig sites.
Ensure ordering required OEM spares for CAT III/IV inspections and follow-up with procurement.
Lead installation, commissioning, testing and handover of well control systems for rigs.
Coordinate NDT, third-party inspections, pressure testing and certifications.
Ensure proper documentation, traceability and equipment release control.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Supervise technicians and ensure competency development and safe work practices.
Support API/client audits and ensure closure of nonconformities (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with API Q1, API Q2, OEM procedures and CAT III / CAT IV client requirements.
Liaise with OEMs, clients and internal teams for smooth service execution.
Promoting HSE compliance and safe work practices.
Reporting department performance to management.
Implementing API Q2 & ISO 9001 standards in the department and ensure compliance with same.

Essential Work Activities
- Review NDT inspection report and submit it to supervisor.
- On receiving clearance assemble the equipment as per OEM guidelines.
- Subject the BOP for pressure tests and submit report to supervisor.
- Keep all equipment and work areas clean and free of debris.
- Ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of the installation crew.
Education, Skills, And Experience
- Diploma/ bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 10 years in well control equipment maintenance and repair.
- He should have worked minimum 5 years with top 10 BOP Well Control Companies like (eg. NOV, Cameron, CAD, SLB, Halliburton, Weatherford etc..)
- API / OEM training preferred.
- Standard knowledge - API Q1 & API Q2, API 6A, API 16A, 16C, 16D, 6AR, 16AR.
- Experience in rig commissioning and troubleshooting preferred.
- Demonstrable leadership and professionalism skills.
- Comfortable to advocate and problem solve when needed.
- A critical thinker with a positive attitude.
- Dedicated to constant improvement and attention to detail.
- Understand and have experience with expense reporting
