Project Manager / Senior Engineer – Water & Wastewater
Location: Peoria, Illinois (Hybrid / On-site)
Travel: ~5 days per month

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer looking to take ownership of impactful municipal and utility projects while working in a collaborative, close-knit environment that values autonomy, visibility, and career growth.

The RoleYou will lead and deliver a wide range of water and wastewater projects from concept through construction, while also supporting business development and mentoring junior staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing water and wastewater projects from planning through execution
- Leading feasibility studies, design, and engineering analysis
- Preparing proposals, scopes, and manhour estimates
- Developing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Supporting permitting and regulatory approvals
- Assisting clients with funding strategies, including grants and loans
- Overseeing construction administration and site observation
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Project ExposureYou’ll be involved in diverse and technically engaging work, including:
- Water distribution systems and water main design
- Wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and force mains
- Water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades and new builds
- Master planning and capital improvement programs
- Financial planning, rate studies, and lifecycle cost analysis
- Regulatory compliance and discharge permitting
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 10–15+ years of consulting experience in water/wastewater
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Illinois or ability to obtain quickly)
- Proven experience managing projects of varying complexity
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, etc.)
- Familiarity with GIS and ArcGIS
