Location: Offshore / Nearshore Afungi, Mozambique

About the Project
The Mozambique LNG development is a major subsea-to-shore gas field development located in northern Mozambique. The project represents a multi-billion-dollar investment, including 18 subsea wells, export pipelines, manifolds, umbilicals, and associated subsea infrastructure feeding a 12.88 MTPA, two-train LNG facility.

The upstream offshore scope includes survey, pipelay, umbilical installation, subsea structures, dredging, backfill operations, and SIMOPS/COMOPS activities executed from a marine spread of installation vessels.
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Upstream Offshore HSE Supervisor to oversee the execution of HSE activities across offshore and nearshore installation operations.
Reporting hierarchically to the Offshore Company Site Representative and functionally to the Upstream HSE Manager, the role is primarily vessel-based and requires close collaboration with contractor HSE teams to drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and contractual HSE standards.

This position operates on a 4x4 rotational basis onboard one of the main installation vessels, with flexibility to support other vessels within the marine spread as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE guidance and support to Company and Contractor teams to ensure adherence to Project HSE Plans and procedures.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSE performance during offshore and nearshore operations.
  • Participate in and contribute to HAZIDs, risk assessments, audits, and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
  • Review safe systems of work (PTW, Risk Assessments, TBTs).
  • Support and participate in incident investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and lessons learned implementation.
  • Ensure accurate HSE reporting and statistics, acting as focal point for reporting to onshore HSE management.
  • Support HSE assurance activities and follow-up on audit findings and action plans.
  • Oversee high-risk activities including heavy lifting operations (up to 2000T floating cranes) and high-volume marine movements.
Accountabilities
  • Safe and timely delivery of the offshore HSE scope.
  • Compliance with Company HSE requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Effective management of HSE oversight during offshore installation activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ HSE experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Recognised HSE qualification.
  • Experience in offshore construction / installation projects.
  • Proven ability to lead or participate in incident investigations and conduct detailed HSE audits.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to coach contractor personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships in multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Valid BOSIET and OGUK Medical certification.
