This is an opportunity to join an important environmental remediation programme, operating and maintaining a sophisticated groundwater extraction and treatment system. The role combines hands-on plant operations, equipment maintenance, process optimisation and troubleshooting within a technically challenging environment.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in water or wastewater treatment, groundwater systems, industrial process operations or environmental remediation. • Optimise treatment processes and support regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Carry out routine, preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and associated infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process control issues.
  • Maintain pumps, motors, valves, meters, chemical feed systems and other treatment equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain groundwater extraction and injection wells.
  • Collect water samples, monitor treatment performance and maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
  • Use SCADA and automated control systems to monitor equipment, identify alarms and respond to operational issues.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers and environmental professionals to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support occasional after-hours operational requirements when needed.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience operating and maintaining water, wastewater, groundwater treatment or similar industrial process systems.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, controls and associated process equipment.
  • Experience working with SCADA systems and automated process controls.
  • Strong organisational, communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and resolve operational issues with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's licence and satisfactory driving record.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain the necessary access to work on a Department of Defense installation.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with groundwater remediation or environmental treatment systems.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, or ability to obtain it before starting.
  • 30-hour Construction Safety training, or ability to obtain it before starting.
  • Previous experience supporting military installations, federal facilities or government projects.
Who Would Suit This Role? This position could suit an experienced Water Treatment Operator, Wastewater Treatment Operator, Groundwater Treatment Technician, Industrial Process Operator or Environmental Remediation Technician who enjoys being hands-on with equipment and solving technical problems.
Experience from industrial water treatment, utilities, power generation, oil and gas or other complex process environments may also be relevant, provided you have the required treatment-system and SCADA experience.
