Transport Management Advisor
 
Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of all transportation and traffic management activities associated with a major construction project. The role ensures the safe and efficient movement of personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractor vehicles both on public roads and within project-controlled areas, while maintaining compliance with project HSE requirements, legal obligations, and client expectations.
 
To provide transport and traffic management expertise, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient planning, coordination, monitoring, and assurance of all transportation activities associated with project operations, including personnel transport, logistics, heavy vehicle movements, plant mobilisation, supplier deliveries, and public-road journeys.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Coordinate daily transport, logistics, and traffic management activities across the project.
• Manage vehicle movements, access control, delivery schedules, and traffic flow within project work areas.
• Ensure transport providers, subcontractors, and drivers comply with project requirements, road traffic legislation, and HSE standards.
• Verify and maintain vehicle, driver, and transportation records, including inspections, competency verification, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct route assessments, journey management planning, and transportation risk reviews for materials, plant, equipment, and personnel movements.
• Monitor vehicle performance, road conditions, traffic volumes, and transport-related safety risks.
• Implement and oversee traffic control measures, including signage, marshals, pedestrian segregation, speed control, and convoy management.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and emergency response activities relating to transportation and traffic events.
• Liaise with project management, HSE personnel, contractors, clients, suppliers, transport providers, and local stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of transportation activities.
• Perform inspections, audits, and assurance activities to verify compliance and drive continuous improvement in transport safety performance.
• Support environmental protection requirements by managing transportation impacts such as dust, noise, emissions, spills, and community interfaces.
• Produce transportation reports, KPIs, logs, and performance data to support project governance and management review.
