Our client, a worldwide group of companies have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Electrical Designer to support their team in their East Kilbride facility.

Under supervision and mentorship, the Trainee Electrical Designer will support the electrical design team with the following:
  • Assist in the development and preparation of electrical design documentation using PDMS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Learn and contribute to the creation of documents such as:
    • Basic modelling of E&I equipment in PDMS/E3D
    • Cable Tray Routing Drawings
    • Cable Routing Drawings
    • E&I Equipment Layout Drawings
    • Lighting Layouts
    • Electrical Cable Schedules
    • Single Line Diagrams
    • Earthing Layouts
  • Work with Electrical Engineers to gain understanding in the identification and selection of appropriate electrical equipment for projects.
  • Support the integration of EC&I design with other engineering disciplines including Process, Structural, and Mechanical.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to industry tools and standards while developing technical and professional skills.  You should already have a basic
understanding or interest in AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D and Microsoft Tools. You will have the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and an interest in learning
how to produce and manage design documents on a project environment.

You will be working towards or recently completed a relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar).

You will have a willingness to work abroad or travel to project sites as required.
