Orion Group is seeking a Trademark Paralegal Contractor to support our pharmaceutical client’s Legal Department in Irvine, CA!
This role will focus on assisting attorneys with U.S. trademark prosecution, maintaining trademark records, supporting disputes, and ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing trademark-related work.

Orion Group is seeking a Trademark Paralegal Contractor to support our pharmaceutical client’s Legal Department in Irvine, CA!
This role will focus on assisting attorneys with U.S. trademark prosecution, maintaining trademark records, supporting disputes, and ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing trademark-related work.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organize documentation and information requests related to trademark disputes.
- Conduct comprehensive trademark searches using the USPTO database and other platforms.
- Prepare and file prosecution documents (applications, declarations of use, specimens, etc.) with the USPTO and other agencies.
- Retrieve, review, and maintain trademark dockets to ensure accuracy and timely responses.
- Draft clear, concise communications including cease & desist letters and correspondence with outside counsel.
- Support attorneys with fact finding, case preparation, and investigative activities.
- Liaise with outside law firms, internal employees, and senior management on trademark matters.
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (ABA-approved program).
- Minimum 2 years of trademark prosecution experience (USPTO filings, declarations of use, specimens).
- Proficiency in conducting trademark searches and database research (USPTO and other major platforms).
- Ability to draft effective legal communications (letters, emails, trademark-related documents).
- Strong experience reviewing and managing trademark dockets.
- Excellent organizational, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and legal software/database management systems.
