Exciting opportunity in West Yorkshire to join a global leader in designing and manufacturing canmaking machinery, tooling, and complete production solutions for metal cans - including two‑piece beverage, food, and aerosol cans. The Technical Systems Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and continuously improving business systems across technical domains, with a strong focus on engineering and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of systems that underpin core business functions, including CAD, PLM and MES. 

The Role:
  • Provide technical support for engineering and manufacturing systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across existing hardware and software.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Support integration between systems such as CAD, PLM and MES.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery and system alignment.
  • Implement enhancements to improve system reliability, scalability, and user experience. 

 Required Experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience of project management following agile and lean methodologies such as DMAIC.
  • Experience with system administration, databases (SQL), and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX).
  • Understanding of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and integration with shop-floor equipment
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and how they interface with manufacturing processes
