My client is a global diversified technology and multi industrial leader serving a wide range of customers in more than 150 countries.

They are urgently looking for an experienced Technical Author, this role is supporting their Marine Division with high level document writing and control of technical contracts & specification (Fire detection & extinguishing)

This is an exciting position where you will be involved in creating documentation / contracts for large commercial shipping clients, MoD & overseas projects.

Ideally you will have experience working on Marine based projects though not essential & possess excellent, written communication skills/ proficiency with MS office.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Support the Marine division as a technical author, writing contracts & specification
  • Generation of detailed project documents to a professional standard
  • Responsible for flow of documents / Run document control systems
  • Show a strong understanding of how to compile & write customer documentation
  • Attend meetings as required

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience of working in an Engineering / Marine environment
  • Authoring of Technical documents mostly appertaining to Fire detection & extinguishing systems.
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, preferably Marine
  • Experience of working on MoD contracts
  • Provide general project support
  • Have an understanding of Document Control systems
  • Have the ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Proficient in the use of MS office
  • Have an understanding of MS Project, Publisher and the use of Gant charts.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in Oil & Gas / Marine / Defence
