We currently have a TA planner (Mechanical) role. This position is based in Sohar, Oman.

Minimum requirements
Scope (Planning & Scheduling)
Turnaround Planning and Execution              
Detailed planning of activities, scheduling, resource allocation, procurement of materials, and coordination with contractors and vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient turnaround process.
Shutdowns or outages activities such as inspection, repair, replacement, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
 
Safety Measures 
Implementation of strict safety protocols, including the training of personnel, adherence to permit-to-work systems, and the implementation of safety barriers to mitigate risks during the turnaround.
Environmental Compliance              
Compliance with environmental regulations, such as the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, emissions monitoring, and implementation of pollution control measures.
 
Accountabilities
Develop turnaround plans for maintenance TA Planning & Scheduling phase activities.
Analysis of planning data in CMMS (SAP) and ensure accuracy of TA maintenance shutdown activities to reduce downtime.
Coordinate with maintenance, operation, and team members in the plant to ensure schedule turnaround activities are aligned with the scope of work and plant requirements.
Review and log spare parts consumption and reconcile (verify) material codes on the plan against warehouse inventory.
Review work orders for completeness, validity of priority, and accuracy of turnaround planned activities
Monitor the execution of the turnaround activities to avoid any delay / slippage from the turnaround plan and provide revision if required.
Assist planning engineer in asset management & update master data in SAP.
Process notification into orders, reservation of manpower’s, prepares E-PTW, produce job packs for TA work list /checklist items

Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking
  • Hydrocracker Unit
  • Hydrotreaters: Hydro-desulfurization (HDS) to remove sulfur and nitrogen compounds from natural gas and other refined petroleum products like diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel.
  • Hydrogen Generation Unit: Pre-desulfurization section, followed by desulfurization, reforming and process gas cooling with high temperature shift conversion to increase the hydrogen content of the process gas.
 
Aromatics – Preparation, Separation, Tank Farm, Recovery , Facilities and processes 
 
Polymers  
HDPE is made under controlled conditions by applying intense heat to petroleum to help create ethylene gas. During its production, the gas molecules will attach to form polymers, which then produce polyethylene.
High density polyethylene plastic process (thermoplastic) is made from a string of ethylene molecules (hence, the poly part of polyethylene), and is known for being both lightweight and strong.

AREA 1: Heavy Oils – Distillation process:  
AREA 2: Catalytic Reforming process for upgrading naphtha feedstocks into high octane gasoline blending components
 
 
Steam Cracker
Steam cracking furnaces to produce lighter alkenes (or commonly olefins), including ethene (or ethylene) and propene (or propylene).
Olefin Cracker
Olefin process involves breaking down larger hydrocarbon molecules into smaller olefin molecules, such as ethylene and propylene, which are important building blocks for the petrochemical industry.

Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position are Technical Diploma in Engineering or similar
 
Language requirements 
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)
 
4+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of refinery and petrochemical plant operations.
Knowledge of :
Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Expertise in SAP- PM Module.
Primavera P6 / MSP
Experience in planning techniques, scheduling & cost monitoring.
Knowledge in material specification, QA/QC, and international Codes & standards.
