SURF Operations Lead - France then Angola - Major Project

Great opportunity to work as a SURF Operations Lead for a Major Oil Company on a major $10 Billion Project in Angola. The role will be based in Saint Quentin en Yvelines in France for the first 6-12 months before moving to Angola (estimated in late 2026). 


The Role:

The SURF Operations Lead will be responsible to supervise the preparations, execution and coordination of offshore operations by SURF CONTRACTOR, encompassing all marine and installation activities during Kaminho main (6months) and hook up campaigns (1month). The role will involve working in close relation with SURF CONTRACTOR and TEPA relevant entities. The SURF Operations Lead will be in charge of all the COMPANY personnel mobilized onboard the SURF CONTRACTOR’s vessels and be their focal point for follow-up and day to day reporting of all technical, logistic, planning and HSSE topics related to SURF offshore campaign.

 

The SURF Operations Lead is responsible to manage and coordinate the interfaces with other entities/packages of the project, in particular:

  • Interfaces with the Marine Warranty Surveyor for the validation of each type of operation included in the scope of work agreed with the insurers .
  • Interfaces with SPS package for the offshore assistance of the SPS CONTRACTOR and for the management of the relevant SPS tooling and equipments
  • Interfaces with TEPA and Project Logistic entities to manage logistic of personnel and equipment


Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • High technical knowledge in installation engineering and offshore operations
  • Strong experience (+ 15 years) in management of offshore operations and/or experience as COMPANY representative on various construction vessels
  • Proficient with installation of rigid flowlines, risers, and umbilicals.
  • Knowledge of TEPA environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and to work in multi-cultural environment
  • Job holder shall have up to date BOSIET


Applicants must be willing to:

  1.  Have missions to Angola if needed (short trips only if asked to by the Project)
  2. Have offshore certificate valid (HUET/ BOSIET) at all times during the contract as some of the missions in Angola might involve offshore visits
  3. Have offshore medical certificate valid at all times during the contract
  4. Be willing to eventually move to Angola as residents at a later stage on single status (family status in Angola is not impossible, but would not be the preferred option)
