SURF HSE Lead Engineer
Location: London, UK – SURF EPCI Contractor Office
Duration: 1 year minimum, up to 5 years
Status: Residential

We are currently looking for an experienced SURF HSE professional to support a major deepwater offshore development during the EPCI phase.
The successful candidate will support the SURF Package Manager in implementing and deploying the Project HSE Management System, working closely with the Project H3SEQ Manager, Company teams, the SURF EPCI Contractor and its subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all Health, Security, Safety, Societal and Environmental (H3SE) activities across the SURF package.
  • Act as the HSE focal point for SURF sites and interfaces.
  • Monitor and follow up HSE performance of the SURF Contractor and subcontractors.
  • Review and oversee implementation of H3SE management systems, philosophies, plans and procedures.
  • Conduct and support HSE audits, safety reviews and site visits, including fabrication yards and marine spread.
  • Monitor HSE KPIs, statistics and performance against project objectives.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Ensure actions arising from audits, reviews and inspections are effectively closed.
  • Develop and implement H3SE training plans for the Company SURF team and ensure appropriate training for contractor personnel.
  • Support HSE readiness, documentation and engagement with relevant authorities.
  • Promote a strong H3SE and safety culture throughout the package.
  • Capture lessons learned and provide feedback to project stakeholders.
Project Environment

The role supports a major ultra-deepwater development in approximately 3,000 m water depth, involving extensive offshore and subsea infrastructure, multiple fabrication and preparation sites worldwide, and numerous international contractors and suppliers.
The project operates in a highly international and multicultural environment with a strong focus on H3SE performance.

Required Profile
  • 10–20 years of professional experience, including significant EPCI project experience.
  • Approximately 10 years in the same or an equivalent HSE position.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong experience managing HSE activities within major EPCI/offshore projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural environment.
