POSITION TITLE: Subsea Fabrication Engineer
KEY ROLE
• This role is for the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project. This role will involve providing engineering support to the Subsea Fabrication team to assist in the fabrication of permanent subsea assets for bp projects in Azerbaijan ensuring items are fabricated and tested to specific COMPANY and project specifications.
• The role will be site based at a fabrication facility in Baku, Azerbaijan.

LINE MANAGER TITLE: Subsea Fabrication Lead
PSM POSITION REFERENCE:
PRE-REQUISITES
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good physical health is required to attain offshore medical certificate to work in Fabrication Yard and to participate in construction surveillance activities.
• Exemplary communication and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to achieve collaborative relationships across the entirety of project.
BASIC SKILLS
• Overall understanding of basic site safety best practices.
• A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident to speak up and be part of a team, help enforce a one team approach.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum:Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical engineering technical discipline
Desired: Proven track record delivering required role or similar within the Oil & Gas Industry
EXPERIENCE
• Ideally 3 -5 years, of experience in offshore subsea fabrication projects
• Familiarity with international codes and standards: API, AWS, DNV and BP specifications and standards.
• The post-holder will be fully comfortable with working on a fabrication site – significant oversight of and exposure to construction activities will be required as part of this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate excellent personal HSSE leadership and HSE behaviours. Lead by example, with regards to BP’s HSE policies. Implement COMPANY HSE standards through participation in self-verification and oversight activities across the fabrication facility, ensuring investigation and follow-up where required.
• Provide technical input and oversight of Construction Contractor during fabrication and testing phase of workscope.
• Promotes team work, integration and co-operation at all levels, across all project entities to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
• Ensures Contractor site work processes and procedures are fully implemented to underpin effective construction ramp-up and execution.
• Manages construction performance from start through to final acceptance, including Mechanical Completion Handover processes.
• Participate in 'Go/No Go' and Lessons Learned sessions for major activities.
• Report fabrication progress effectively to relevant project managers to identify any schedule risks and deliver and implement realistic mitigation measures in consultation with construction manager to protect delivery schedule and ensure accurate integration with the regional offshore installation programme.
• Ensure Company provided Item delivery is aligned with site fabrication requirements and provide ROS dates to procurement teams.
