Are you an experienced and motivated Sub Agent looking for a unique project as part of Scotlands energy network upgrade?.
Orion Group are working with a successfull and established Civil Engineering Contractor to source an experienced Sub Agent for a project in the Caithness area of Scotland.
As a Sub Agent, you will work closely with the Site Agent to manage the day-to-day operations of the construction project. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with subcontractors, overseeing various work packages, and ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You will be instrumental in ensuring that project objectives are met within the agreed timelines and budgets.

As a Sub Agent, you will work closely with the Site Agent to manage the day-to-day operations of the construction project. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with subcontractors, overseeing various work packages, and ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You will be instrumental in ensuring that project objectives are met within the agreed timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating all on-site construction activities, including scheduling work, managing resources, and overseeing subcontractor performance.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure that work packages are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor the progress of the project against milestones and budgets, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other project documentation in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure that the work complies with health and safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and the project’s technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and advice to site staff, addressing technical queries and coordinating design changes when required.
- Assist in preparing detailed progress reports, including daily diaries, photographic evidence, and as-built drawings to document the project’s activities and achievements.
- A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in construction software and tools, including project management software and CAD programmes, would be an advantage.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently and take initiative where required.
