Structured Trader – EU Gas Market

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Gas Trader to join a leading Global Energy & Chemicals company in Vienna, Austria. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in the European gas markets, with deep knowledge of trading strategies, market fundamentals, and risk management within the EU energy landscape. 


The Role:

• Identify, structure, negotiate and execute profitable deals for physical or virtual European natural gas commodity, transport and storage.
• Take advantage of existing contact network to open new business opportunities focused to strengthen company position in supply, transport & storage assets, and continuously develop a strong relationship with existing and potential future counterparts.
• Bear P&L responsibility and continuously track and manage the risk in open positions.
• Manage internal order flow from other desks relating to gas assets (transport and storage), EUAs, power, and biogas GOOs, while providing market access support where required.
• Manage enabling agreements in collaboration with internal stakeholders (credit, legal, compliance, etc.) through to execution, and oversee related reporting and protocols (e.g., credit workflows).

 
Required Experience:

• University degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Natural Sciences, Business Administration, or Economics.
• At least 9 years of professional experience in energy trading, with exposure to proprietary and/or structured trading.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering consistent and sustainable trading profits.
• Comprehensive understanding of European and global gas market dynamics, combined with proficiency in trading strategies, risk management, and fundamental analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with fluency in English, additional languages are advantageous.
