An established structural engineering consultancy based in the Peak District is looking to expand its design team due to continued demand for its services.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy practice working on a diverse range of projects including new stadia developments, residential and commercial alterations and inspections, and bespoke homes.

The role offers a high level of project ownership and independent working, allowing you to be involved in all stages of a project from initial enquiries and quotations through to scheme design, site inspections, detailed calculations, drawings, and responding to client or contractor queries. You will work within a supportive team environment where senior engineers provide guidance and checking where required.

The company also places strong emphasis on learning, development, and supporting engineers working toward chartership.
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years’ post-graduate experience in structural engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment, and a good understanding of building structures and the UK construction industry. Experience designing with timber, steel, concrete, and masonry is desirable.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience using AutoCAD to produce drawings
  • Understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with MasterSeries TEEDS or Mathcad is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
