Job Title: Structural & Piping Supervisor – Fabrication Yard
Location: YANDA Construction Yard, Nantong, China
Division: Exploration & Production – LNG Onshore
Reporting To: Company Representative – YANDA Yard
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Structural & Piping Supervisor (SPS) to oversee fabrication of pre-assembled pipe-rack modules and piping spools for a major LNG onshore project. The SPS will be based at the fabrication yard in China and will act on behalf of the company, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to technical standards in the production of modules and piping spools destined for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and demonstrate strong HSE culture across all interactions with the fabrication yard and contractor teams, ensuring compliance with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain daily presence on the yard shopfloor, actively supervising fabrication and installation activities.
  • Ensure structural and piping work meets quality expectations, reviewing adherence to approved drawings, procedures, and ITPs.
  • Oversee welding, PWHT, painting, NDT, hydrotesting, erection, and insulation of modules and piping spools.
  • Monitor manpower, equipment, and materials, verifying personnel qualifications, consumables, and raw material certificates.
  • Track NCRs, corrective actions, and performance metrics while extracting QC and progress data from yard management systems.
  • Maintain strong coordination with contractor supervision, company representatives, and welding/NDT engineers to resolve technical and operational issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma.
  • CSWIP or equivalent Senior Welding Inspector certification.
  • Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills; Chinese or French is advantageous.
Work Schedule:
Rotational 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off, typically 6 workdays per week.
Competencies:
Proven ability to supervise large-scale fabrication activities, strong technical knowledge of welding and piping systems, high attention to quality, safety, and detail, with strong communication and leadership skills in a multicultural environment.
