Static Equipment Lead

Role Overview
Lead the static equipment engineering scope for an offshore expansion project, ensuring technical requirements, project specifications, and data sheets comply with applicable codes and standards. Provide expert guidance on mechanical/static equipment design and compliance to enhance asset reliability and safety, while supporting Engineering leadership to deliver on schedule and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure contractor static/mechanical engineering for topsides and related offshore scope complies with contract requirements, project codes, and standards.
  • Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables for mechanical equipment; provide comments on cross-discipline documents.
  • Plan and track engineering deliverables for efficient execution, maintaining alignment with project management systems and operational policies.
  • Participate in key design workshops (e.g., 3D model reviews, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, criticality assessments) and close actions on time.
  • Monitor contractor progress and timely issuance of static equipment documents for topsides and relevant onshore interfaces.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to evaluate and endorse technical deviations to specifications when required.
  • Manage interfaces across Operations, Pipelines (topsides perspective), and the Onshore Project Team to ensure coherent delivery.
  • Promote SHES leadership in engineering activities and support constructability and operability considerations.

Reporting & Interfaces
  • Reports to: Head of Mechanical Engineering (Offshore)
  • Interfaces: Major Projects teams, internal engineering disciplines/SMEs, EPC contractors, vendors, and specialist consultants

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer on major Oil & Gas projects, including offshore/static equipment scope.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering execution (design standards/specifications/codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations).
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in a PMT environment; proficient English and report writing/presentation skills.
  • Computer literacy with professional office applications and relevant technical tools.
  • Good cross-discipline understanding (mechanical equipment, piping, pipelines, structural, instrumentation, telecom, electrical).
