Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Start-Up Support Supervisor (CPF Operations) to support the commissioning, start-up, and early operational phase of a large onshore oil production facility.
This is a senior field-based role with strong operational, safety, and leadership responsibilities, working closely with the Start-Up Leader and Production Superintendent. The position plays a key role in ensuring safe start-up, SIMOPS management, operational readiness, and stable production in a complex and sensitive operating environment.

The position plays a key role in ensuring safe start-up, SIMOPS management, operational readiness, and stable production in a complex and sensitive operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Phase – Start-Up Preparation
- Develop detailed knowledge of site facilities, process systems, and operating philosophy
- Review operating manuals, operational test procedures, and leak test procedures
- Prepare start-up sequences and marked-up P&IDs
- Contribute to Black Start procedures
- Familiarise with ESP start-up and operating philosophy
- Develop Level 4 start-up and operating procedures (including pigging procedures)
- Populate routine task lists and operator round checklists using digital tools
- Prepare shift report templates and pre-start-up checklists
- Coordinate with training teams to organise OJT for new operators
- Act as Delegated Operating Authority once systems are handed over to Operations
- Ensure safe working conditions, conduct toolbox talks, LMRA, and safety rounds
- Identify degraded situations and ensure mitigation measures are implemented
- Participate in incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- Participate in risk assessments, PTW audits, and weekly safety meetings
- Manage emergency situations and support safeguarding of process facilities
- Ensure strict compliance with inhibition and override management systems
- Open and manage high-risk permits
- Ensure readiness and execution of isolations, pressure testing, flushing, and start-up programs
- Lead CPF production teams through system and unit start-up sequences
- Ensure adherence to start-up procedures and identify gaps for corrective action
- Coordinate routine and non-routine activities of field and control room operators
- Ensure process operations remain within design limits and production objectives
- Oversee ESP start-up, ramp-up, and performance follow-up
- Ensure compliance with chemical injection guidelines and sampling programs
- Coordinate logistics for chemical resupply
- Review site conditions and open daily PTWs on behalf of Production Superintendent
- Ensure proper PTW close-out and safe restoration of facilities
- Monitor inhibitions at each shift and crew change
- Ensure accurate shift handover and production reporting
- Lead resolution of abnormal production situations and production loss analysis
- Ensure daily event reporting and checklist updates
- Raise and follow maintenance notifications for malfunctions
- Participate in investigations and root cause analysis
- Contribute to ESD reports and operational feedback
- Prepare and update operational and shutdown procedures
- Contribute to updates of P&IDs, safety logic diagrams, and operating instructions
- Supervise CPF Field Operators and Control Room Operators
- Ensure effective shift handovers and crew changes
- Support training, coaching, and competency development
- Contribute to performance assessments and skills development
- Safe and efficient plant start-up
- Strict compliance with HSE, SIMOPS, and PTW requirements
- Stable production and injection operations
- Effective leadership and coaching of operations teams
- Accurate reporting and communication
- Diploma of Higher Education / BTCE (Operations, Production, or equivalent)
- More than 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of CPF operations and ESP systems
- Good understanding of DCS-based process control
- Strong knowledge of HSE, SIMOPS, and PTW systems
- Proven leadership with natural authority
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
