Start-Up Support Senior Production Operator – CPF
Location: Buliisa Site, Uganda

Start Date: Q1 2026
Duration: 12 months
Status: Rotational 28/28

We are seeking an experienced Start-Up Support Senior Production Operator to support commissioning, start-up, and early operations of a large-scale Central Processing Facility (CPF) within a complex greenfield onshore oil development in Uganda. This role reports to the Start-Up Support Supervisor and Production Supervisors and operates on a 28/28 rotational basis.
The position plays a key role in preparing the CPF for safe start-up, leading field activities during commissioning and start-up, and supporting stable and efficient production operations. The role involves developing detailed start-up and pre-start-up procedures, participating in operational tests, line-walks, troubleshooting, and punch list close-out, and ensuring systems are safe and ready for handover and start-up.
During start-up and operations, the Senior Production Operator will lead field execution with junior operators, monitor process conditions, identify abnormalities, and take immediate action to maintain safe and controlled operations. Responsibilities include operating oil, gas, water treatment, and utility systems; supporting ESP start-up and ramp-up; coordinating truck operations; supervising critical activities such as pigging and confined space entry; and ensuring strict compliance with operating procedures and permit-to-work systems.
The role also has a strong coaching component, actively supporting on-the-job training of junior operators, assessing competency gaps, and sharing operational experience. Additional duties include routine safety and process rounds, sampling, reporting, participation in incident investigations, lessons learned systems, emergency response activities, and accurate shift handovers.
The project is located in a remote and environmentally sensitive area with extensive SIMOPS and a multicultural workforce, requiring high safety awareness, discipline, and resilience.
Candidates should have a minimum of seven years’ oil and gas operational experience, including at least two years in a similar role, strong knowledge of CPF operations and DCS-based control systems, experience with PTW and isolations, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a rotational site environment.
