Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Central Control Room (CCR) Panel Operator to support the commissioning, start-up, and first oil phase of a large onshore oil & gas production facility.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, stable, and efficient plant start-up and early operations, operating from the Control Room on a day/night rotational basis. The position reports to the CRO Leader, with close interaction with Production Supervisors and Field Operations.
The role requires strong operational judgement, DCS expertise, and leadership capability to coach junior CROs in a high-risk, SIMOPS environment.

Key Responsibilities Start-up Preparation & Commissioning
- Participate in commissioning activities from loop checks through Operational Test Procedures
- Confirm alarms, trips, and set points
- Review and improve start-up procedures
- Contribute to preparation of Reflex Sheets for CRO use
- Use Operator Training Simulator (OTS) extensively to train junior CROs
- Take a key role in plant start-up and first oil operations
- Operate the plant safely from the Control Room during start-up phases
- Coach and mentor junior CROs on operational best practices
- Monitor and operate DCS and CCR interfaces to ensure safe and stable operations
- Oversee production, injection, utilities, and well operations
- Identify bottlenecks and propose operational solutions
- Maintain full process awareness and respond immediately to abnormalities
- Manage ESP and well operations, including troubleshooting
- Handle gas, water, sand, wax, and solids management
- Adjust well and ESP parameters to maintain safe and optimal performance
- Propose improved well operating regimes
- Ensure compliance with approved production, injection, and export nominations
- Act immediately on deviations to minimise shortfalls
- Respond immediately to emergency situations
- Operate safety systems during process safety incidents
- Ensure PTW, JSA, and mitigation measures are correctly implemented
- Reinstate inhibitions in line with work management systems
- Prepare and maintain accurate production logs and reports
- Raise maintenance notifications for abnormal equipment behavior
- Propose system and HMI improvements
- Participate in Lessons Learned and corrective action tracking
- Act as a technical leader for CRO newcomers
- Safe and successful plant start-up
- Strict compliance with operational and safety procedures
- Achievement of production, injection, and export targets
- Effective communication during shift handovers
- Continuous mentoring and knowledge transfer
- Diploma of Higher Education / BTCE (Operations, Production, or equivalent)
- More than 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar CCR Panel Operator role
- Advanced DCS operation skills
- Strong knowledge of HSE rules, SIMOPS, and PTW systems
- Ability to work under pressure in demanding environments
- Strong decision-making, adaptability, and leadership skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
