Position Title: Sr Engineer Central Processes
Location: Sohar, Oman
Duration: One year (extendable)
Start date: ASAP
 
Minimum Requirements
Provide robust technical engineering expertise, support and create innovative solution related with the execution of   identification, implementation and continuous improvement of process optimization-based activities under Central Process Engineering TL scope’s and ensure teams apply common engineering principles and concepts to their own teams' responsibilities. ; through (1) Analyses and prepares optimization proposals  executing  the corresponding engineering actions,  task and activities  related to  opportunities of optimization  (2) Execute actions to ensure that Management process  Services meets Management strategy, tactics  and operational performance goals, (3) Provides focused technical/engineering support on specific operations and the corresponding engineering, maintenance and operational teams in Central Process Engineering, (4) May handle a large scope of projects simultaneously, and (5) Provides guidance to junior engineers, trainees, and teams; in order to ensure projects and service actions, tasks  and targets are achieved efficiently and to optimum standards
6-8 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably with experience in the area/assets associated with this position.
Engineer role within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry.
Experience in feasibility study, FED study and EPC project.
Experience in process optimization projects, energy optimization projects.
Experience in chemical, catalyst and study tender technical evaluations and scope of work preparation.
Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
Expertise of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
Expertise in software applications like Petrosim, Hysys, PI, and LIMS etc. 
Knowledge in Refinery, Steam Cracker and Aromatics operations (Process, Static & Rotating Equipment)
Experience in benchmarking studies like Solomon.
Experience in Asset Master Data governance.
Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
Expertise for budgeting and cost control.
Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports.
 
Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
 
Education requirements
Minimum Qualifications for this position is Bachelor degree in Engineering preferably in Chemical Engineering
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) | Arabic - Native (desirable)
 
Technical:
Computer knowledge in MS Office applications like MS Word, MS excel etc.
Good knowledge and expertise of SAP., PI, Hysys, Petrosim.
Knowledge of process engineering best practices
Refinery commissioning and start-up.
SOP interpretation
Knowledge in HSE (Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response)
Knowledge of DCS systems.
Proficient at interpreting Technical Drawings
Supporting and delivering right technical solutions to the plant and to provide swift support as needed.
Technical understanding of downstream petroleum industries 
Business understanding of HC (hydrocarbons) marketing and their movements
Understanding of LP optimization
Understanding of downstream petroleum business financials
