My manufacturing client, based in Oldham is a global leader in their respective field and are looking to recruit a hands on IT Software Engineer/ DevOps Engineer, reporting into their Group IT Manager.

My client is looking for a visionary software engineer with technical ability and desire to lead the manufacturing automation development and deployment across the production plant. In particular you will have intimate knowledge of open source technologies Tcl/Tk, PostgreSql and Linux, along with a broad range of IT skills.

Ideally a thorough knowledge or background within manufacturing or FMCG and used to working with systems affiliated with simulation is strongly advantageous and knowledge of scripting, web interface technology is important.

The core competencies required are hands-on:

  • Delivery of highly available complex systems suitable for a 24/7 environment.
  • Innovation of readily usable, integrated solutions.
  • Problem solving in a demanding manufacturing environment.
