Site Lifting Specialist

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Lifting Specialist to support offshore lifting and handling operations for a major brownfield EPCIC scope in Qatar. The role will focus on planning, supervising, assessing, and improving lifting activities in line with company procedures, HSE requirements, and internationally recognized standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, analyze, plan, and adjust lifting operations in line with procedural and HSE requirements.
• Support safe and efficient execution of lifting and handling activities offshore.
• Maintain structured lifting documentation, processes, and personnel competency support.
• Provide technical appraisal and input to contractors on lifting and handling operations, planning, equipment suitability, and compliance.
• Ensure lifting operations are carried out in accordance with company procedures and recognized international standards.
• Promote safe handling and lifting practices across offshore work activities.
• Participate in implementation and continuous improvement of lifting and handling procedures and safety culture.
• Review and approve lifting plans prepared by contractors before execution.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and acceptance reviews for lifting equipment, fixed lifting systems, loose lifting gear, accessories, CCUs, and related certification.
• Verify that contractor-supplied lifting personnel are trained and experienced for the assigned scope.
• Inspect installation vessels and lifting equipment before mobilization to site.
• Support investigations, internal audits, technical reviews, and post-job assessments related to lifting operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the lifting and handling industry at supervisory level.
• Offshore jack-up / topside installation experience preferred.
• Technical engineering degree and/or relevant lifting qualifications.
• Recognized industry certifications such as OPITO / LEEA / EAL / CPA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of lifting appliances, lifting accessories, and lifting operations.
• Good working knowledge of international standards such as BS, LOLER, and related industry requirements.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven background in both onshore and offshore operations.
• Previous hands-on experience in roles such as Rigger, Rigger Foreman, Rigging Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, or Lifting Superintendent.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, critical and non-critical lift planning, and lifting safety.
• Supervisory experience in critical and heavy lifts.
• Coaching and mentoring experience is preferred.
• H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET training preferred.
