POSITION TITLE: Site Lifting Coordinator

This role is for the Sangachal Terminal Electrification Project (STEL). The role is to support Project Construction team during execution stage of the project. The role is approximately for 9 months period and might be extended for future projects.
The Site Lifting Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all lifting operations on the regulatory standards and best practices.

KEY ROLES
  • Reports to the P&O AGT Project Lifting Team Lead but takes direction from construction manager and Lead SLC
  • Manages the day to day lifting operations on Project site
  • Assist Project Lifting Authority with Lifting Audits as require
  • Perform daily audits when require
  • Verify and approve routine/non-routine lifting plans at project site
  • Monitor competency levels on site
  • When requested to visit other project site and support Construction teams.
  • Ensure the equipment used is suitable and up to BSEN standards or equivalent
  • Implementation of recognised best lifting practises across region.
  • Ensure BP global lifting standards are used across project site
  • Monitor Lifting appliances maintenance program is adequate as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist Company in achievement of “0” lifting incidents

  • Physical ability to walk, climb, and otherwise access construction work locations as required
  • Ability of auditing the contractors, service providers in order ensure contractors work as per contract requirements
  • Capable to build relationship with contractors and work with contractors collaboratively
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Must be aware about Sub Sea construction and installation activities
  • Presentation skills
English language skills must be as minimum intermediate level. IELTS 5.5 Preferable

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
  • BP Internal Online level 3 – specific training for Site Lifting Coordinator
  • Internationally recognised technical qualification e.g. Higher National Certificate, EAL Lv2, Appointed person or equivalent
  • Expertise in comprehending, interpreting, and communicating lifting specifications, fabrication drawings, lifting methods, in-depth understanding of international standards and LOLER, inspection and certification requirements / reports.
  • Full understanding of planning and workflow process
  • Understanding load testing and inspections criteria of lifting equipment’s and capable to advice contractors safe test methods. Preferably to have LEEA inspection qualifications in addition to lifting certificates.
  • Understanding heavy lifting planning and executions
  • Be Familiar DNV/IMCA/BSEN standards
  • Understanding the mechanical capabilities of the lifting appliances
  • Advanced ability to communicate to management and to multi language work force

EXPERIENCE
  • Experience of methods, design of lifting attachments and accessories
  • Experience of lifting within the oil & gas industry for onshore and offshore facilities and equipment including, Heavy steel construction, Heavy Cranes, SPMT’s, Marine Subsea and Installation
  • Preferably to understand jacking and skidding systems
  • 5 years in field experience as a minimum
  • Understanding of training & Competency requirements
  • Experience in a lifting operation Supervision at least 5 years
  • Understanding lifting equipment certification requirements
  • Experience of working in a multi-national team
  • Substantial experience closely aligned with job responsibilities (see section 5)
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

·      Assist and support the Project Lifting Authority to achieve the project objectives•     Demonstrate HSE leadership by actively engaging the BP site team and construction contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on BP’s HSE expectations•     Promote surveillance of all lifting activities in accordance with the project quality documents•     Ensure Contractors lifting personnel are competent and with appropriate records and KPI’s•     Surveillance of the contractor’s competency assessment process for personnel undergoing trade tests.•     Ensure that the Hold & Witness points and other requirements identified within lift Plans are fully implemented by the contractors•     Determine, track and report lifting related Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)•     Communicate all potential lifting related risk and improvement issues to the Lifting Authority, Project Managers, construction managers and HSE team•     Take ownership of lifting related execution risks and drive them to acceptable levels   •     Ensure that lifting related Action Items are addressed and closed in a timely manner•     Participate in various site meetings and initiatives as required by the Lifting authority, Project Managers, construction and HSE managers•     Lead and/or coordinate weekly / monthly / quarterly lifting meetings with contractor, and site team•     Lead and/or participate in quality reviews, investigations and site self verifications•      Demonstrate a commitment to the development of others
  • Demonstrate basic skill and character prerequisites on an on-going basis
