About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Firefighter Superintendent to join a major international LNG development project.
You will lead the establishment and management of the site firefighting organisation from the engineering phase through to full operations, ensuring readiness, safety, and compliance with the highest international standards.
This is a unique opportunity to build, train, and lead a world-class industrial firefighting brigade for a multi-billion-dollar LNG facility.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Firefighter Superintendent to join a major international LNG development project.
You will lead the establishment and management of the site firefighting organisation from the engineering phase through to full operations, ensuring readiness, safety, and compliance with the highest international standards.
This is a unique opportunity to build, train, and lead a world-class industrial firefighting brigade for a multi-billion-dollar LNG facility.
Key Responsibilities During the Engineering Phase:
- Review engineering documentation and ensure alignment with company requirements
- Develop HSE procedures related to fire & rescue operations, daily activities, and emergency response
- Define and procure firefighting vehicles (fire trucks) and equipment (FPS & FFE) for LNG/condensate/gas facilities
- Liaise with maintenance engineering teams on spare parts and preventive maintenance plans
- Design and implement a training program for the fire brigade, prioritising the development of Mozambican personnel
- Recruit the firefighting team and plan for the construction of a training facility
- Coordinate with other LNG operators on sharing resources and equipment
- Plan and oversee all firefighting activities to align with objectives, budgets, and schedules
- Manage and coach the firefighting team (supervisors, leaders, instructors) to maintain a cohesive and capable response unit
- Ensure firefighting systems, vehicles, and equipment are maintained and operational
- Lead firefighting and rescue training sessions and fitness programs
- Act as Incident Commander during fires, emergencies, or search & rescue operations
- Support fire/emergency investigations and drive continuous improvement
- Promote and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety culture across all activities
- A-Level in engineering/technical discipline or equivalent in-house technical training
- Background in firefighting (civil or military/army)
- 20+ years of solid experience in industrial firefighting, including leadership of large fire response teams
- Strong expertise in industrial fire protection systems and emergency response management
- Proven ability to train, develop, and motivate multinational teams
- One of the largest LNG projects globally (≈$20 billion capex)
- 13 MTPA LNG production and 4 Mbbl/year condensate
- $5 million annual OPEX responsibility
- Team leadership of around 16 direct subordinates
