We have a current opportunity for a Shutdown Coordinator on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha. For further information about this position please apply.
Title - Shutdown coordinator
Duration - Start date Upto 31st May 2027
Work Location - Onshore (Ras Laffan)
Work Schedule - 8 to 10 Hours per day from Sunday to Thursday
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline the minimum.
Note: Technically competent person with Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and having hands-on experience of minimum 12 years is also accepted.
Minimum 10 years’ direct experience in process operation planning, preparation and field supervision, including 5 years at senior supervisory level, within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
Experience on review of scope of works, planning, preparation and review of documents especially execution work packages for shutdown /turnaround maintenance activities and external service requirements
Proficient in Engineering Codes and Standards such as API, ASME that is governing shutdown activities and ensure compliance to it in implementing.
Working knowledge of ISO Quality Management System.
Substantial knowledge of all operational aspects of multidiscipline specific shutdown maintenance responsibilities.
Computer literacy (Latest Planning & Scheduling Tools, MS Office applications).
Excellent command in English language (both written and spoken) and having high calibre presentation skills.
Worked with SAP ERP (e.g. PM, MM, PS, & IM modules), MS Project & Primavera P6 for Maintenance, Planning and Procurement activities.
Excellent experience and skills in classroom trainings and in presentation /public speaking.
Preferably worked with Shutdown /Turnaround Planning Packages such as Computer Aided Scheduling and Planning (CASP) and Roser Suite Systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
Able to handle independently end-to-end complete scope management deliverable related to a large scale /size Oil & Gas industry (e.g. refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, etc.) shutdowns /turnarounds.
PLANNING EXPERIENCE
Fully familiar with computerized maintenance management system in monitoring of day-to work orders, preventive maintenance program, collection of equipment data specifications and validating of equipment repair history for input in SAP .
Having technical report writing skills and usage of modern planning techniques and computer software's such as Primavera (P6) / MS Projects / SMART Plant, MS Office –2010, etc.
Having Knowledge in Shutdown /Turnaround Planning Milestones i.e. Continuous Planning Phase, Concept Phase, Definition Phase, Detailed Planning Phase, Pre-shutdown /turnaround Execution Phase, Turnaround Execution Phase & Post shutdown /turnaround Execution Phase pipelines during shutdown /turnaround & skill in preparation of isometric with the help of draftsman.
Capability to prepare Material Reservations for the shutdown /turnaround in Oil & Gas industries
Familiar in Preparing WPS to activity level, Level-III, Level-IV network
Talent in Calculating Resources based on Primavera and or MS Project for shutdown /turnaround.
Capacity to Prepare Scaffolding, Insulation & Painting Estimation for a particular shutdown /turnaround.
Ability to Prepare S curve to monitor daily progress starting from scoping phase to pre-shutdown phase and then during execution and post shutdown periods.
Able to prepare cost estimation and work with commercial /contracts department
Able to develop and implement plan versus actual progress charts (histograms/S-curves).Reporting and analysing deviations from plan.
Able to demonstrate /perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential
alternatives.
Able to prepare Method of Statements and Job Safety Analysis of various static equipment and piping for maintenance activities.
EXECUTION EXPERIENCE IN PLANT SHUTDOWNS & TURNAROUND:
Able to plan & schedule the work to efficiently organize the site / facilities in order to meet an agreed plan /program of deadlines.
Able to monitor the work of any main or subcontractors to complete the work as per schedule and cost parameters.
Able to preparing precise and conclusive management reports like criticality report, S-Curves, plant-wise, discipline wise & major /critical task or project wise reports.
Able to fully and professionally perform constructability reviews at site, manage construction activities and resources.
Experience in erection of heavy equipment such as Heat exchanger, Vessels, Fin-fan-coolers & Column, etc.
Support the shutdown maintenance contracting strategies by performing pre-bid job walks, scope clarifications, addressing contractor logistical requirements.
Support and follow schedules utilizing approved plans. Gather and inform progress status updates to Planners to accurately reflect projected completion date.
Develop work packs for assigned area supporting shutdown plan.
Review work orders that have been fully planned before issuance for execution and confirm correctness and relevance.
Participate in Risk Based Work Selection (RBWS) and Lean thinking sessions and leads job clash, SIMOPS reviews.
Support in resource levelling & crane mapping and determine spares requirement.
Perform shutdown execution, work prioritization, contractor supervision and progress monitoring.
Perform pre and post shutdown mobilization and demobilization activities, including material return and close out reports.
