Position: Shift Supervisor 1st Assistant

Position Info: Work Location: Offshore Construction Vessel, 28/28 rotation

Contract duration: 12-month, extendable

Qualifications & Experience: Education: Higher Education

Work experience: Offshore construction experience (subsea construction, pipelay,saturation diving, ROV operations, hook-up & commissioning etc.)

Knowledge of Languages: English (fluent), Azerbaijani (fluent), Russian (is an asset)

Other Skills/Certificates Required:

• Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills Capability to manage personnel under his/her responsibility including training and coaching;
• Ability to read and interpret technical project documents;
• Knowledge of diving, ROV, S-lay, J-lay, deepwater subsea installation operation limits and risks and integration with the other offshore operations;
• Knowledge of types of lifting methodologies offshore and suitability of each method to specific operational needs. Knowledge of risks associated with lifting and associated mitigation techniques;
• Knowledge of the various types of rigging equipment (slings, bridles, shackles, etc.) and lifting equipment (cranes, tirfors, chain blocks, bridge cranes, etc.);
• Knowledge of prefabrication and installation methodologies for steel structures for offshore activities;
• Knowledge of offshore company organizational structure and operative procedures for the execution of offshore projects, efficient and effective planning and capability to liaise with other process actors for the achievement of the operational and quality targets;
• Ability to efficiently coordinate the subcontractor's activities and monitor performance;
• Proper HSE Work Practices - knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working and environmental protection procedures/practices & rules to be applied.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, in order to ensure efficient performance and respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
• Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board;
• Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors, with regard to the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, in order to comply with the quality and safety standard;
• Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimise all production phases;
• Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status;
• Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer in order to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities;
• Liaise with subcontractors' supervisors to optimize production;
• Solve matters related to coordination, priority and interface between the different disciplines in order to meet the scopes of the project;
• Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for construction crew is adhered to and ensures that the daily Tool Box Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures;
• Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors with regards to health, safety and environment awareness;
• Ensure the compliance with the standards dictated by Company QHSE policies and safety procedures, in order to perform the activities in a safe manner;
• Report incidents and near-miss events;
• Manage the Crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements on board, ROV launching and underwater operations;
• Assist marine operations if required;
• Provide a construction report at the end of each shift;
• Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in the follow up of project equipment and consumable, operation and monitoring of the stinger and JLT;
• Ensure the rigging gear used is within date and properly marked;
• Report to the Offshore Construction Manager;
• Supervise the team of deck equipment operators related to DEH cable operation (if applicable) to ensure safe operation of the DEH Cable operation during pipeline installation activities;
• Ensure that the DEH operators are familiarised with the DEH equipment (if applicable) prior to commence operation;
• Ensure any operator must be familiar with the Task Familiarization Card, check lists and Manuals, before being allowed to operate the system;
• Fully adhere, at all times and irrespective of the work place, to Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures and requirements;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
