SHES Specialist - Dredging & Marine Construction

We are looking for an experienced SHES Specialist to provide specialist Safety, Health, Environment and Security oversight for major dredging, reclamation, marine and offshore construction activities.
The role will act as the Company’s SHES focal point, providing technical guidance, field oversight and compliance assurance to ensure works are executed safely, securely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide SHES leadership and assurance across dredging, reclamation, marine and associated construction activities.
  • Conduct inspections of dredgers, barges, work boats, marine equipment and construction sites.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with SHES plans, environmental permits, project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, environmental management plans and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct SHES audits, inspections and field verification activities.
  • Manage risks associated with marine operations, SIMOPS, lifting, marine logistics and reclamation activities.
  • Monitor environmental performance including water quality, turbidity, marine ecology, waste management and pollution prevention.
  • Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions and lessons learned are effectively implemented.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Safety, Health, Environment, Security or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of SHES experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in dredging, reclamation, marine construction, port development or offshore projects.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, marine contractors or port authorities.
  • Strong knowledge of marine operations, vessel safety, marine logistics and dredging methodologies including CSD and TSHD.
  • Experience with PTW, SIMOPS, HAZID, HAZOP, JSA and Management of Change.
  • Preferred certifications include NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001 Auditor, Incident Investigation and Marine Safety Training.
  • Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
