Senior/Lead Recruitment Consultant

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior / Principal / Lead Recruitment Consultant to join our successful team conveniently based in the market town of Altrincham. With the possibility of some hybrid home working, the location places us near all the major motorway links, trams and offers a range of local shops, restaurants, gyms and other facilities.
This is a hot desk within the construction and infrastructure division, with a major blue-collar client contract already in place. The successful candidate will combine hands-on recruitment delivery with strategic account management, while also having the autonomy to build and grow their own desk/sector. You will be expected to spend 1–2 days per week on the client site in Warrington and 1–2 days in the Altrincham office.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage and deliver on a large, existing client contract within the blue-collar construction & infrastructure sector.
  • Develop and utilise the candidate database to identify the right candidates for client requirements.
  • Advertise vacancies and manage responses, maintaining a strong pipeline of skilled trades and labour applicants.
  • Build and manage client relationships, ensuring recruitment requirements are delivered in a timely and professional manner.
  • Actively pursue leads and develop additional business via networking, referrals, and social media.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: vacancy intake, shortlist, interviews, placement, and aftercare.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with clients, ensuring clear documentation and compliance at all times.
  • Ensure all candidate compliance, including eligibility to work, qualifications, referencing, and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client and candidate communication within the company database.
  • Attend recruitment fairs, exhibitions, or industry seminars as required to promote Orion Group and build market knowledge.
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience in blue-collar (skilled trades and labour) recruitment within construction and/or infrastructure.
  • Strong track record in client delivery and account management.
  • Commercially minded with excellent organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume recruitment while also spotting growth opportunities.
  • A motivated self-starter with the drive to take ownership of a desk and sector.
