We are seeking a Senior Wells Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. This is a high-impact onshore contract role focused on the strategic selection, onboarding, and technical oversight of decommissioning operations across bp-operated and non-operated joint ventures.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Provide expert technical support on abandonment designs, methodologies, and North Sea regulatory compliance.
- Operator Onboarding: Lead the technical evaluation and systematic onboarding of external Decommissioning Operators, ensuring all operational and business risks are mitigated.
- Financial & Technical Governance: Deliver robust Wells Financial Memos (FM) and AFEs while ensuring alignment with budgetary and safety requirements.
- Execution Support: Provide technical guidance during the execution phase to ensure decommissioning liabilities are managed in line with strategic intent.
- Innovation & Collaboration: Work with the Technology team and industry peers to identify and implement cutting-edge P&A technologies that enhance safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Expertise: 10+ years of well engineering experience, with a heavy focus on North Sea Plug & Abandonment (P&A) and decommissioning.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of UK legislative requirements and decommissioning regulatory expectations.
- Mindset: Collaborative, agile, and ready to embrace digital technologies to optimize operational performance.
