Our client, an oil & gas operating company, are urgently recruiting for a Senior Telecom Engineer to be based initially in London on a contract basis.

Main Responsibilities:

* Provide Telecoms expertise support in the implementation of the functional specification, design work and monitor Telecom discipline studies during detailed engineering (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting), procurement (FAT/IFAT).

* To set and manage that all engineering documents and equipment are delivered on time according to project schedule.

* Review and participate actively in the development of the definition and the design of the Telecom systems and deliverables (Telecoms Index, design specifications, Third party Interfaces, Fiber Optic network, Vendor drawings, etc.) for the PLANT that will be developed by an Integrator.

* To participate in the CONTRACTOR's Telecom meetings and related interface meetings.

* Ensure coordination and integration of all systems both within and between scope of contractor, integrator, suppliers and vendors.

* Support the Engineering Manager and the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecoms package leader in coordinating/communicating various issues that affect the Telecoms engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.

* To promote alternatives for Telecom design to reduce and optimize costs and work at sites.

* To anticipate problems that may arise and be prepared to react quickly.

* To ensure that temporary and construction phase telecom systems (VSAT, radios,) are developed in accordance with project requirements.

* Provide technical advice and input to other groups and disciplines within the project engineering team, Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, Safety, Security, Commissioning, Operations, Procurement and Commercial.

* To make the necessary Telecom technical arbitrations with support from HQ as when necessary.

* To identify need for HQ support to the Engineering Manager.

* To ensure detailed progress reporting to Engineering Manager on a weekly and monthly basis.

* Highlight critical problems and propose corrective actions as necessary.

* To carry out any other duties or tasks that may be required by the position.

* To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard H3SE and H3SE rules implementation

* To adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour with regard to Ethics and project "code of conduct" policy

* To participate to meetings with partners, authorities and other stakeholders as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

* Graduate highly specialised Telecom engineer, with extensive experience of work as discipline specialist on large oil & gas project (both engineering and field).

* Fluency in English (speaking and writing).

* Be able to work well as a member of a Project Team and to positively communicate with his Contractor's counterpart.

* Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.

* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
