Senior Safety Officer

Work Location: Onshore - Doha & Ras Laffan

Minimum Requirements
Minimum 12 years of experience including at least 8 years of experience as a HSEQ / SHE&S professional, loss prevention and industrial safety, with at least 2 FEED projects executed within the last 8 years.
Experience in the Oil & Gas, HSEQ management of FEED and EPC projects, engineering, construction and commissioning projects, systems completions coordination, hook up/commissioning, and start up activities in brownfield and greenfield environment.
Experience in implementation of HSEQ systems and building HSEQ capability and competence in a new project starting from FEED phase up to EPC phase including detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start up.
Good understanding of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques. Experience of active participation in process safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, fire & explosion, dispersion modelling and FERA/QRA studies.
Ability to develop, review and monitor FEED drawings/documents and communicate with other engineers is essential.
Experience with contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge in developing and implementing Emergency Response Procedures to deal with H2S Risk to the workers.
Experience in active participation of workers’ welfare programmes
Experience in development and maintenance of Project HSE Risk Registers.
Experience in providing Safety Leadership to large contractors workforce to drive proactive safety culture and Safety KPIs.
 
 
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering, or Safety discipline.
NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
Must have the ability to network with other Safety Teams and Company- Loss Prevention discipline.
Good knowledge of hazard identification software’s (e.g. PHAPro), consequence modelling software (e.g. PHAST), or other software (e.g. Pipenet).
Good knowledge of written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures and technical reports.
Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point.
