Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, based in Aberdeen. This has been released on a 12 month PAYE contract. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Discipline Support: Champion the development and maturity of rotating equipment engineering across the organisation, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Authority: Provide deep technical support and guidance for complex rotating equipment issues, including failure investigations, performance optimisation, and lifecycle management.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead initiatives to improve the quality of engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrity Management: Ensure the integrity and reliability of rotating equipment through robust maintenance strategies, condition monitoring, and risk-based assessments.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to resolve equipment challenges, support turnaround planning, and drive defect elimination.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with production, maintenance, and project teams to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
  • Contract Support: Market engagement strategy support, scope definition, and technical assurance.
 
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience of engineering, maintenance and operations of an oil & gas processing facility.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and of governing codes, industry standards and local regulations relevant to rotating equipment and ability to demonstrate practical applications of engineering standards and practices.
  • Providing support for site operations related risks/queries/activities to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations.
  • Professional accreditation, e.g. Chartered Engineer, or, significant level of demonstrable autonomy in Rotating Equipment discipline.
  • Ability to travel offshore UK.
  • Experience of providing frontline engineering support for an operating asset. (Desirable)
