Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Reservoir Engineer based in Aberdeen. This is a PAYE contractor role for an initial 12 month and is with a North Sea Operator client.
The Role
Working within the Subsurface team in Aberdeen, you will integrate production and reservoir data to identify value-adding opportunities, optimise field performance and support development activities across the wider portfolio. Your analysis and technical expertise will help inform key operational and strategic decisions.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong Communication and the ability to build trusted relationships across disciplines, as well as with joint venture partners and regulatory bodies. Working with Operations, Wells and Commercial teams, you will help ensure robust technical assurance, effective management of subsurface risk and uncertainty, and delivery of high-quality outcomes built on Respect and integrity.
As a senior technical professional, you will contribute to reservoir engineering best practice, promote continuous Learning, and demonstrate Empowerment & Accountability through sound judgement, technical leadership and a focus on creating long-term value across the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead reservoir engineering activities for the Bruce Hub assets, supporting effective reservoir management and field optimisation.
- Build, maintain and interpret reservoir simulation models to support forecasting and opportunity identification.
- Communicate reservoir performance, risks and uncertainties clearly to support business decision-making.
- Work collaboratively across Subsurface, Wells, Operations and Commercial teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Provide technical assurance and present recommendations to management, joint venture partners and regulatory stakeholders.
- Support development projects and business growth opportunities across the wider portfolio.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Extensive reservoir engineering experience
- Strong experience using reservoir engineering and simulation software, including Eclipse, Petroleum Experts and Harmony.
- Proven ability to manage complex, integrated subsurface workflows and deliver high-quality technical outputs.
- Excellent technical communication, report writing and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of reservoir performance, production optimisation, commercial drivers and value creation.
