Orion Group are supporting a successful Tier 1 Construction & Infrastructure client to source an experienced, commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering high-impact commercial construction projects.
As the Senior QS you will play a pivotal role in one of Scotland’s most exciting new healthcare developments. Initially based in the Glasgow or Inverness office you will be involved in commercial activities during the tender and pre-construction phase. Upon contract award, in late 2027, you will transition to a site-based role in the highlands, where you will be part of the commercial delivery of the project on the ground.

- 25 days paid annual leave plus 8 days public holiday

*Smart Working policy (as noted above) The preference is that a Senior Quantity Surveyor would be on site regularly, 3 days per week. They will be overseeing other commercial staff, and will generally be expected to be on site each week.

- Prepare and review estimates, tender submissions, and contract negotiations
- Drive financial performance, cost control, and value engineering initiatives
- Manage risk, procurement, supply chain relationships, and commercial reporting
- Act as a mentor and leader to commercial staff, championing professional development
- Ensure compliance with the businesses governance, Group Minimum Commercial Expectations, and Cultural Framework
Who we're looking for
- A qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor with a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards)
- Proven experience in Healthcare within the construction sector or large Commercial Builds within the UK.
- Skilled in contract negotiations, and cost reporting
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts, procurement strategies, and digital tools
