Position: Senior Project Engineer
Location: Gum Adasi, Baku, Azerbaijan
Schedule: 08:00 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday)
Transportation: Provided by the company via shuttle buses (to and from the office)
Key accountabilities:
• Lead and coordinate project engineering activities across project disciplines, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
• Support development of project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, design reviews, and execution plans.
• Ensure the deliverables (drawings, specifications, calculations, procedures) meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide seamless delivery of the projects in all the phases from concept to operations.
• Identify the risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure safe and reliable project outcomes.
• Work closely with operations, drilling, platforms, subsea, facilities, HSE, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project integration.
• Assist in preparation of tender packages, technical evaluations, and contractor performance reviews.
• Support management of change (MoC) processes, ensuring proper documentation and engineering justification.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and readiness assessments to verify compliance and construction quality.
• Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the project team.
• Prepare technical reports, project updates, and presentations for internal stakeholders and management review.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of project engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, energy, or related industrial sector, including 5+ years senior project engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of engineering design practices, industry codes and standards (API, ASME, etc.).
• Proven experience supporting multi-disciplinary project delivery in onshore/offshore environments.
• Solid knowledge of project planning, cost control, procurement processes, and construction methods.
• Professional certifications such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, APM, or equivalent are an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and business systems.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities; experience in multicultural environments is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Additional training in leadership, contract management, or risk analysis are considered an asset.
