Project Scope
The objectives of this project are to support the engineering and design phases of a desalting and water treatment facility. The Principal Package Equipment Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. Key responsibilities include:
  • Defining the design for package equipment for a desalting and water treatment facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Supporting piping layout and model reviews to optimize design efficiency and functionality.
  • Attending Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assisting in cost estimation to support the final investment decision (FID).
  • Producing detailed calculations to validate equipment weight and performance specifications.
  • Engaging with vendors to obtain quotations and technical documentation.
  • Evaluating vendor bids to ensure alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Supporting the Lead Engineer in tracking and reporting progress on documentation and deliverables.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including piping, process, and procurement departments, to ensure seamless project execution. The engineer is expected to demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to meet project milestones.
 
 
Deliverables
Orion Group is delivering a comprehensive evaluation of proposals submitted in response to an enquiry for a standardized design for biomethane reverse compression. The deliverables include:
  • Basis of Design document outlining the technical foundation of the project.
  • Data Sheets specifying equipment requirements and performance criteria.
  • Equipment List detailing all necessary components for the project.
  • Requisitions for procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Bid Tabulations summarizing vendor proposals for evaluation.
These deliverables will be developed in accordance with industry best practices and tailored to meet the specific needs of the project.

  • The position is based in London, UK, with opportunities for hybrid working arrangements, subject to project needs and agreement via Orion Group.
  • The contractor is expected to adhere to Orion Group’s health, safety, and environmental policies throughout the project duration.
