Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Marine Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Candidates willing to relocate within the UK will be considered

Responsibilities will include:
Provide operational and maintenance support to the operating units in terms of marine systems such as:
Mooring, cargo, ballast and other marine systems,
Offload systems,
Cranes and all fixed and portable lifting equipment including lifts.
All fixed and portable LSA/FIFI equipment,
Navigation / Radio equipment,
Helideck / Helifuel systems
Support in above systems with respect to Class / Statutory and other regulatory requirements within the area of competence and as per tasks assigned
Manage vendor support related to support / maintenance activities for above systems as required by 28 / 90 day Asset Plans
Provide support for development, review and approval as appropriate for marine operational procedures, performance standards, operational deviations and modifications
Actively contribute with technical and advisory support to Technical Authorities, Operations Managers / Maintenance Managers and offshore units for above systems.
Carry out offshore visits as required.
Carry out technical assurance activities as required.
Carry out marine assurance activities as required on supply vessels, EERV, shuttle tankers.
Assist in development of annual budget as relevant to the role.
Support in incident investigations and provide technical support to Emergency Response team as and when required

Candidate should preferably hold Chief Officer STWC A-II/2 certificate of competency

A system level design understanding of marine systems and experience providing detailed engineering solutions in this area. The involves strong marine engineering understanding on a marine equipment level, multi-discipline understanding of how the marine systems operate on system level, and experience to be able to direct modifications on these systems as far as instrumentation functionality, P&ID design, equipment selection, and hydraulic design (including sizing of pumps).
Experience addressing challenges raised by an FPSO operations team, class society, or regulators, and knowing how to investigate marine systems on an equipment, and system level to be able to provide satisfactory feedback, or proposals for modification.
Significant experience in a similar role with Chief Officer experience on trading tankers.
Experience of database and maintenance management systems.
Exposure to UK legislative requirements (safety case regime)

Previous skills:
Working as a marine engineer working in a multi-discipline team providing detailed engineering for medium to large modifications on an FPSO while the unit is in operation, working closely with the operations team.
Working as a marine engineer on an FPSO conversion or FPSO new build (in this case candidates would need some form of offshore/sailing experience in addition)
