Senior HSE Advisor

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior HSE Advisor, based onshore in Aberdeen, with offshore travel required. This is a core PAYE contract role, initially for 12 months but annually renewable thereafter. They have a very positive internal culture and offer an excellent working environment as well as hybrid working options.
 
This is a key role for supporting health and safety with a strong focus on occupational health, therefore strong working knowledge in this area is essential for the role. The successful candidate will be required to ensure legal compliance and deliver occupational health plan improvements
 
Responsibilities:
  • Act as an ambassador for company’s Life Saving Rules, House Rules, and HSE Expectations. Promote a proactive HSE culture through site visits and visible leadership.
  • Provide support to operational assets via HSE training, incident investigation, audits, and advice on best practice.
  • Lead and support the development, delivery, and monitoring of occupational health and industrial hygiene programmes, including health risk assessments, exposure monitoring (noise, vibration, hazardous substances, ergonomic risk), medical surveillance coordination, and health promotion campaigns.
  • Assist HSE Manager/Lead in monitoring and reporting HSE performance, identifying trends, and driving improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and delivery of HSE and OH/IH improvement plans.
  • Maintain a positive safety culture and support behavioural safety programmes across assets.
  • Maintain and test emergency response arrangements, including medical response planning and occupational health considerations.
  • Support regulatory engagement, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure requirements of Safety Cases and health risk assessments are reflected in operational practices and modifications.
  • Review and advise on work packs, risk assessments, and project activities, with a focus on occupational health and hygiene risk controls.
  • Engage with contractors and supply chain partners to ensure OH/IH and HSE expectations are communicated, understood, and achieved.
  • Provide active monitoring and engagement during contract execution.
  • Close liaise and interaction with key stakeholder including regulators
  • Manage various HSE compliance database and systems
  • Participate in assurance activities relating to occupational health and wider HSE practices
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Strong passion for HSE, OH, and IH, demonstrating company’s values and vision.
  • Effective team player, able to collaborate across all levels.
  • Ability to develop pragmatic solutions and influence outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health, industrial hygiene, risk management, compliance, and emergency response

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Recognised qualifications or demonstrable experience in occupational health/industrial hygiene management.
  • Relevant oil and gas experience.
  • Professional membership of a relevant body (IOSH, BOHS, or equivalent).
  • NEBOSH diploma, degree qualified or equivalent
  • Experience in either HSE or an operational/technical discipline
  • Experience across a number of known operating and/or project phases
  • BOSIET/MIST/Offshore Medical/Occupational health and safety
