Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer, Electrical Reliability to develop and implement electrical reliability strategies, perform advanced condition monitoring, and lead initiatives to improve electrical system performance and extend the useful life of electrical assets.

The role will be responsible for developing condition monitoring programs, implementing predictive maintenance strategies using advanced analytics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise to Operations and Maintenance teams for critical high- and low-voltage electrical assets, including transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, VFDs, soft starters, and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
Develop and implement reliability improvement plans for critical electrical assets.
Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
Conduct Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies and develop long-term asset reliability strategies.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for electrical failures.
Perform remaining-life assessments of electrical assets to support lifecycle management.
Develop and implement advanced condition monitoring techniques, including thermography, partial discharge testing, MCSA, transformer oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, insulation resistance testing, TTR testing, and circuit breaker testing.
Analyse condition monitoring data and provide proactive corrective recommendations.
Monitor reliability KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR and prepare reliability performance reports.
Conduct power system analysis using industry-standard software and manage electrical power system models.
Lead power system protection coordination and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Assess electrical distribution network performance using reliability indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI.
Ensure compliance with applicable national and international electrical codes, standards, and specifications.
Develop, review, and update Electrical Maintenance Craft Procedures (MCPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct audits of maintenance practices and implement improvements.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Manage electrical reliability and condition monitoring projects from inception through completion, ensuring budget and schedule requirements are met.
Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
Support projects and development activities from an electrical reliability perspective.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review reliability performance and develop improvement action plans.
Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance personnel.
Keep up to date with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in electrical reliability engineering.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
12+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, specifically within substations, power generation, or power distribution.
Strong experience in electrical condition monitoring techniques, including thermography, partial discharge analysis, and insulation resistance testing.
Experience working with online and offline monitoring systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
Good understanding of processes within upstream plants, applicable codes and standards, and project specifications.
Experience in plant troubleshooting, maintenance optimization, and problem-solving.
Understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, engineering drawings, and OEM manuals.
Experience with predictive maintenance tools and software.
Knowledge of reliability management, standards, and calculations.
Experience with project management tools.
Experience with SAP PM and MM modules.
Experience with Asset Performance Management (APM) software.
Relevant electrical certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Competent Electrical Person (CEP) are desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a diversified and critical environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
Excellent written, reading, and spoken English.
Arabic – Native speaker is desirable.
