Senior Cost Engineer

This position will act on behalf of the client, managing a portfolio of very large terminal build projects, acting as the first point of contact for all cost engineering activities and be a key contributor to improving processes, procedures and tools utilised by the function.

The successful candidate will be a member of the project controls team, working closely with engineering, planning and finance disciplines to ensure consistent and accurate integration of cost and planning across the portfolio.

Overall responsibilities
* Managing and maintaining Cost Control and Forecasting across a portfolio of very large capital projects;
* Challenge and align project budgets, cash flow projections, and any project-specific reports, tools, or spreadsheets.
* Ensuring the basis of Estimate at Completion is predicted using industry recognised approaches to ensure accurate, reliable and consistent forecasting;
* Evaluate resource requirement, commitment data and productivity and cost variance reports developed by the project delivery teams.
* You will be overseeing the administration of contract agreements, purchase orders, and the issuance of contractor payment certification.
* Develop KPI's for the Cost Engineer team and function
* Assist the Project Controls and Project Management functions with managing the project change management process, including development of high-level estimates and overseeing the up-issue of cost baselines;
* Oversee the development of project progress summary reports;
* Assist with establishing, implementing, and documenting job-specific project controls standards.
* Closing out cost management aspects on completion of contracts.
* Build collaborative relationships with associated divisions and external parties.


* Degree qualified in finance or technical or project management-based discipline is desired.
* Ideally degree in Cost Engineering discipline.

* Strong cost engineering delivery experience.
* A working knowledge of other project controls disciplines (scheduling, risk management, cost engineering, document management and change management) is essential.
* English language fluency.
* Experience and understanding finance controls and reporting systems
* Preferably contractor management experience
