Organizational Context
The Senior Contracts Engineer operates within a major projects environment and reports to the Package Services Lead, with functional oversight from the Head of Project Contracts and Services.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure assigned contracts are effectively managed in accordance with company policies, contract & procurement procedures, and project requirements.
  • Manage all contractual interfaces with internal stakeholders, partners, regulators, and third parties.
  • Ensure contract processes are implemented in full compliance with company governance, contract & procurement, and major project procedures.
Job Dimensions
The role supports multiple large-scale projects executed in parallel.
Based within major project premises, the Senior Contracts Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of contracts, including tendering, award, and post-award management, covering a global multi-million USD contract portfolio.

Key Activities General Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all applicable safety instructions and HSE procedures.
  • Perform duties in line with company values, policies, applicable laws and regulations, and recognized industry best practices.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained during the course of work.
Contract Tender Phase
  • Administer the EPC tendering process to ensure due process and timely progress, including tender communications, clarification meetings, correspondence, registers, and filing.
  • Prepare Call for Tender documentation and tender evaluation procedures in line with project and company requirements.
  • Ensure consistency across contract documentation, deliverables, and ITT documents.
  • Liaise with project management teams to ensure technical requirements are adequately incorporated into the tender process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure readiness and timely issuance of tenders.
  • Manage, monitor, and control contractual processes for tenders, ensuring recommendations reflect best contractual and commercial terms.
  • Keep project teams informed of tender progress and obtain required approvals.
  • Organize and participate in tender clarification meetings with bidders.
  • Proactively report tender progress, highlight risks or delays, and recommend improvements to cost and schedule.
  • Validate bidder compliance with bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, insurance, and related requirements.
  • Evaluate contractual submissions and support technical and commercial evaluations where required.
  • Assist in preparing tender recommendation reports and recommendations to award.
  • Prepare final contract documents and coordinate execution and signatures.
  • Close out pre-contract activities, including notifications to unsuccessful bidders and archiving of tender documentation.
Contract Execution Phase Post-award, the Senior Contracts Engineer is responsible for ensuring contracts are executed in line with agreed terms and conditions while protecting company interests:
  • Develop project contract procedures and execution plans within area of responsibility.
  • Provide contractual advice to company representatives and prepare or validate contractual correspondence.
  • Maintain correspondence registers and contract records.
  • Review change order requests and prepare or validate change order documentation.
  • Manage contractor claims and prepare counterclaims in coordination with project teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contractual certificates, guarantees, and insurance requirements are in place and valid.
  • Prepare contractual certificates to be issued to contractors.
  • Coordinate and verify contractors’ monthly payment applications and invoice submissions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contract database tracking contracts, variations, approvals, and certificates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure accurate recording and follow-up of contractual commitments and payments in the company ERP system.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by line management.
Context and Environment
  • Projects may involve offshore and onshore works executed across multiple international locations.
  • The role may require travel and temporary relocation to contractor or project sites.
  • The position involves managing complex contractual interfaces with multiple stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in contracts management within onshore and/or offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and tendering processes.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of standard contract forms and call-for-tender procedures.
  • Good understanding of project execution and tender governance practices.
